AVID GARDENER

If my Grandmother had her way, there would be hardly any kind of sickness or disease that couldn’t be fixed with diet.  She is as avid a gardener as Grandpa is a bricklayer.  She grows a lot of her own fruits and vegetables.  She used to love to only can her fruits and vegetables, but gradually began to freeze them as time went on.  She is also an excellent cook.  She says she like to cook natural foods because they are much healthier than the processed stuff people seem to live on these days.  She worries sometimes that the diabetic products, especially food products, are not naturally prepared.  She thinks any additives not such of a good thing, and if she can go all the way natural, she does.  Grandma is also into saving the earth.  She recycles everything she can, including making quilts out of old clothing.  That’s another hobby Grandma nurtures in her spare time.  She says since she has always been a housewife, there are times when she needed to get out of the house.  Quilting introduced her to a group of women who have now become her lifelong friends.  They like to see each other every week.
