NEW MOTORCYCLE
There are attorneys and then there are motorcycle attorneys. I had no idea that there were attorneys just for that, but there are. Our streak of bad luck was continuing. First Sue was hurt, then Tara, then me. I had just gotten my new bike and was just cruising on the expressway, going a normal speed, when another guy on a motorcycle hit me. To this day I'm not sure how it happened. All of sudden we are occupying the same space. He sideswiped me and lost control and shot across three lanes of traffic. It was a miracle that nobody was killed. A couple of cars had to slam on their brakes, and one car was rear ended by a semi. I skidded and then slammed into the guardrail. My leg is pretty mangled. I have had three operations on it and the doctors say that I will probably never be the same. I am really scared at that thought. I need to work, and I can't be out of commission. All I can remember is regaining consciousness and wondering if I still had a leg. I was in the back of the ambulance, and three paramedics were huddled over me. When I reached the hospital I was dumped onto a gurney and moved into a hallway in the emergency room.
